We are happy to share knowledge with you in a spirit of international collaboration and generosity through the network of artists and cultural operators initiated by the Roberto Cimetta Fund in the Arab world and the wider Europe.
We aim to share knowledge with you on the conditions in which you are working in the Arab and Balkan regions. We would like to read about the similarities and dissimilarities of these conditions. We also want to identify the specific and shared problems or challenges faced by you all and to collectively search for solutions that can be implemented (reciprocally or directly). The end goal would be to elaborate realistic strategies through collective actions or support through members’ own communities or countries.
Our plan for the first phase of the forum from beginning of April 2014 to October 2015 is as follows : After a series of blogs the WYCH Forum will focus on specific issues or cases and decide to meet. We have made an application to a funder and hope to get support for the travel and accommodation. However the aim is not to meet too often. Meetings will only represent 20% of time of members, a small fraction of the forum. And would give us a chance to talk over 3 to 4 days on 3 to 4 cases (one case per day). Each day would allow for the presentation of the case, the discussion about the case and formulation of solutions. Overarching conclusions could be drawn addressing more general issues whose relevance could be important to communicate beyond the network.
The development of this forum could lead to the formulation of action plans that are assessed and revised by members, local aids in communities between members, partnerships between members further afield and more generally to inspire us to maximize our collective.
The forum would agree to write up two specific documents: one for members only and one publication document.
